Big news from Malmö! Marathon has acquired a majority of Extended Control, the software company that keeps terminals for bitumen, fuel and chemicals running smoothly.
Before the asphalt on your street or the fuel in your car reaches you, it most likely passes through a terminal. Every single litre has to be loaded, measured, accounted for and reported, and it all has to be right. Behind the scenes at many of these terminals, Extended Control is keeping everything flowing.
Anders Mathiesen and Andreas Gustafsson founded the company in 2014. Since then, they have built a system that operators rely on every day, with happy customers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia and the UK. A niche market, high stakes and a product that simply has to work. It's a perfect match for us, and we fell for it right away!
We're happy to share that Anders and Andreas stay on as co-owners alongside Marathon. We're also thrilled to welcome Rolf Allgulander to the board. Rolf brings deep experience from the Nordic process and terminal industry, most recently as VP Manufacturing at Nynas.
